273 Canadian Bay Rd

An application for subdivision of 273 Canadian Bay Road, Mount Eliza into 8 house blocks, has been advertised on the Mornington Peninsula Shire website (details available here)[external site]. The advertised period ended on 4 August, but objections can be lodged with the Shire until the Shire Council makes a decision on the subdivision application. Objections are to be made using the Shire’s online form[external site] – the planning application number is P21/3521.

MEWRA is concerned, because the plans lodged with the Shire as advertised, show the removal of a very large number of trees and other vegetation. The details of this are in some of the reports lodged as part of the application (details available here)[external site]. MEWRA has lodge an objection on the basis of the proposed tree and vegetation removal  The planned subdivision itself appears to conform with the requirements of DDO18, in that the proposed lots are all over 2000 sq. metres.

The developer will have to lodge a separate application for building permits at a later date. You can be alerted to this and to any other planning applications submitted to the Shire within 2 km of your address by registering with Planning Alerts[external site].
